Early start to the day and a late finish. Basically the Billabong Pro went from sun up to sundown today. The west swell was stills sticking around and crew were actually going right. More.

Teahupoo: Tuesday May 13, 2008
Well the Billabong Pro finally kicked into gear today. A very early start with the first heat hitting the water at 7am, well before the first rays of sunshine came over the mountain range and lit up the contest site. More.

Teahupoo: Monday May 12, 2008
The text message to the competitors this morning was virtually the same as it's been since the start to the waiting period.'Contest off for the day, next call 6.30am tomorrow'. More.

Teahupoo: Sunday May 11, 2008
Today's the first day in awhile that there's been a boat leave the house packed with guys and boards. There's the first little showing from the west swell that was generated by the storm off the top of New Zealand and it's enough to have everyone moving a little quicker and giving them some purpose. More.

Teahupoo: Saturday May 10, 2008
No pre-dawn waxing this morning. No ocean noises either only those dam roosters making a racket before first light. There was no rush from our house because there were no waves ...again. More.

Teahupoo: Friday May 9, 2008
What can I say, it's dead flat! I've been coming here for over ten years at this time of the year and I've never seen it as flat as it is today. More.

Teahupoo: Thursday May 8, 2008
The Billabong Pro officially entered it's waiting period today with the smallest surf for the past week. At last nights Opening Ceremony there was a buzz going around that the event could kick off today More.

More.

Teahupoo: Tuesday May 6, 2008
The line up is filling up with surfers but not with waves. The longer we go without waves the better the chance for a big swell. There’s always one coming. More.

Teahupoo: Monday May 5, 2008
The village is filling up with the Top 45 and associated media and friends. Last night there were three flights from the US, New Zealand and Australia. Our house went from zero surfers to seven in one car load including the entire South African contingent. More.

Teahupoo: Sunday May 4 2008
A still, clear morning in Tahiti and I'm sorry to report that the swell is still small. An onshore wind kicked in yesterday for awhile before glassing off late in the day. Parko, Taj and Bede all hit the Teahupoo line up for a few but it was more of a chance to get wet than do anything else. More.

Teahupoo: Saturday May 3, 2008
It's the calm before the storm right now in Teahupoo. The invasion of CT" guys is about to happen. Within 36 hours a good proportion of the guys will be on the ground. This sleepy little slice of real Tahiti is about to come alive. More.

Teahupoo: Friday May 2, 2008
No rush this morning. Low tide and very small waves breaking on the reef. A few crew head out to Teahupoo for a splash but there is not much happening. More.

Teahupoo: Thursday May 1, 2008
It's one of those days in 'paradise'. Clear blue skies, no wind and unfortunately no real waves. It's the flattest day since I arrived nearly a week ago. The swell maps predicted 'less than 2' for the next couple of days, starting today' and they were spot on. More.

Teahupoo: Wednesday April 30, 2008
Tuesday morning in Teahupoo and it's eerily silent. The roar of the ocean has disappeared and the only noise breaking the tranquility is the crow of a rogue rooster. More.
