Surfers in South East Queensland had a Christmas and Boxing Day feast with very solid easterly swells in the 6-8ft plus range and strong southeasterly winds. When the low pressure system that was ex-tropical cyclone Fina tracked further off to the south east the fun didn’t stop, conditions moderated but there were clean fun waves on the points in the three foot range on the lower tides and the south swell magnets were firing in the three-to-four foot plus range and the winds were a lot lighter. The run continued right through until the end of the year. December 11 was a great start to Summer with a post-Christmas wave bonus to finish off the year.
