COASTALWATCH Bringing the surf to you
North West Lines

Video by Ryan Kenny

You might remember the shot we ran a few weeks back shot of Shaun Cansdell shacked in North West Wesrern Australia, shortly before heading to hospital with a board to the mouth and a few loose teeth. Turns out he was over there with filmer Ryan Kenny, clocking up footage for another Innersection clip and hanging out with Ry Craike, Clay Marzo, Dino Adrian and the Kalbarri crew.

“It was anywhere from four-to-eight foot for the duration of the trip,” said Ryan, “it didn’t really drop off at all the whole trip. It was really uncrowded too – Gnarloo only had three people out one session as the tide dropped out”.

Camping out on the coast, the boys had time to fit in some fishing between reeling left barrels too.

“Craikey looked after us when there were no waves. We packed up the trailer, grabbed some beers and headed up the coast and went fishing for Mulloway. They were only small, but they were good to eat”.

The Mulloway weren’t the only marine life they crossed paths with.

“Sean was about to jump in and paddle across the lagoon and this local guy yelled to him ‘did you see that? It was a big fin’ . He was kinda freaking out after that…”
